Jonathan,

That sucks. Did you have an alarm on the car? I'm just curious if it want off and they still stayed to take the seats.

well, regarding wheel locks, I know for a fact because when I was in college, my roomate lost his wheel key. The shop where he took it said it wouldn't be a problem removing the locks, but after they were removed they would be of no use anymore as they would be broken since they had to pouncd in something that would spin it off. My take is that it will deter, but not prevent

ok let me answer a few peoples question.... as far as after market seats go. i don't really hear of any people haveing them stolen. only S2000 seats are in high demand. i had two sets oh seat locks and never sold my last set to anyone. first set went to er nurse. my car looks 100% stock on the outside so t here is no way it was drawing attention anymore. the car has an alarm but my battery keeps dying because the car has not been driven in a while. so that was no good either. i remember reading a thread on here once about someone else who had seat lock and lost their key. they used a vice grip wrench to remove the seat lock. i would assume if you use a vice grip and clamp it down very hard it could spin the bolt. in anycase they took the seat locks with them. so if they didn't have a key i am worried they might have a way of copying one now....

I know this has been mentioned, and I'm sure you are all smart enough not to do it, but please don't post how to remove seats/ locks/ antennas/ lights/ immobilize alarms, etc. on these boards (for obvious reasons). There's got to be a way to share information to those who are concerned and those who we all know are trustworthy S2000 owners (in all forums and areas of the world). If you know something or find out something, try PM'ing only the people you know, and maybe word of mouth will spreadd the information to those of us that are trustworthy. sharing information can make us a stronger community and can be an advantage to us all.

...You may not know me as I don't post very often, but others do and they can vouch for me. I am not your thief. I feel your pain. I can't imagine how I would feel if I woke up one morning and my seats were gone.

I agree. NOTHING at all should be posted on these boards of other forms of detering theives, or ideas you might come up with on how to avoid getting your seats stolen. Another note.. DO NOT say what kind of alarm you have, then they all ready know what to look for in your car.

To all of you who like to go out to the little hang outs on Bird, Tamiami, US27.. or where ever, you better keep an eye out and DO NOT take the same route home every time, switch it up and take a longer way home, just incase.

Unfortanely we all have to keep an eye over our shoulders. And to be quiet truthful i am really sick and tired of having to worry about a car so damn much. Every morning waking up hoping that my top isn't slashed (again) and seats gone (again). This just sucks pure @$$!

Im not so sure.....my neighbor saw the guys who tryed to get my seats, and they were young punks in a coffe can civic. Also the way they had to cut twice (first cut was in the wrong place) lead me to believe it was the first time, and probably for their own car. Somehow, based on pics of his cut, and where he lives I feel that the ssame punks who hit my car might have stolen JDM KNOWLEDGE'S seats.

There's a couple punks who live down the street from me (kids have been in and out of jail and whatnot). But they have some ricer friends they are always lurking around my street. In any event, the night my seats were stolen, a neighbor of mine said he heard his dogs barking and when he looked out the window he saw a faded brown Civic driving away. May be the same people after all?
