Default Insurance Question

Does anybody have any experience w/ AIG auto insurance? I am doing some research into other companies & how their prices compare to what we have now w/ Allstate. So far I've only contacted AIG and Geico and both are cheaper than what we currently pay (while still keeping the coverages the same). I was just wondering if there are any good/bad experiences out there w/ AIG.

Thanks!

AIG is an excellent company financially. Have no idea on their service.

I would check Progressive and E-surance.com online.

Also check out Mercury insurance (search on the internet). Not a huge name but a very financially strong company who is pushing into Florida so their rates are low.

Ok kiddies - just got a quote from Progressive and OMG! It's over $650 cheaper per 6 months than what we pay now for both cars w/ Allstate. Does anyone here use Progressive? Anyone had to file a claim w/ them? How's customer service? I guess the one thing I'm worried about is getting a good price in the beginning to "hook us in" and then the rates sky-rocket from there.

Thoughts?

Anyone have any experience with Amica? I'm currently with them, but I don't know if they're an accepted vendor here in Florida.

State Farm since 1986 here. I pay about $120 a month for 100/300 on the S. Progressive is supposed to be good. My cousin works for them.

You know what really pissed me off about State Farm? I called today to get an insurance quote. They wanted my DL number and my SS number. Then they said they couldn't give me a quote even for just my car because they needed the DL number and SS number for everyone in the house because "they have access to the car". What a pain in the a$$. Gan, $120 a month? That seems like alot. Do you have tickets or accidents? The quote I got from Progressive would be about $70/month. Think it's just b/c I'm a chick driver & married?

State Farm requires a credit check to do an accurate qoute.

I'm paying $250/per month for 2 cars 100/300.
