Unhappy Maintenance Required light?

maintenance required light came on, has this happened to anyone? I have 39,000 on my car. Yesterday the battery acted up a little bit, when I put gas if you leave the radio on while the car off is that really going to kill the battery? 5 mins tops while filling up the gas tank.

Do you know if the maintenance required light was reset the last time an oil change was done? If it wasn't, it may be showing up now, just indicating that you're coming up to some sort of procedure that should be done (based on mileage).

The maint light comes on every so often. Its simple a reminder to change the oils and take it in for servicing..

oh ok well I am taking it in on Tuesday so hopefully it won't be nothing. I am also going to have them check that spindle nut noise.

The MIL light is merely mileage based, not true maintenance. Some dealerships will actually charge you like $50 to reset it, so watch out.

Look in your Owners Manual, under "Maintenance Required Indicator"

To reset the maintenance required indicator, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position, then press and hold the trip meter reset button while you turn the iginition switch ON. Continute holding the button until the indicator light goes out....

Tada problem SOLVED!

Thumbs up

oh ok thanx for the advice, see mine if I leave the radio on for 5 mins or so it will cause the car to hold the push start button for a little bit longer like if the battery has been drained a bit. do you experience the same? I almost took it for normal for a while because the battery is the size of a walnut...lol....what do you guys think? 10 mins of radio and the battery is totally dead???
