I'm in for tranny and clutch fluid change. Thanks for holding this tech day.
No problem, I don't get to attend very many meets due to a crazy changing work schedule that has me comute to Key Largo a lot. This is my way of giving back to the So Fla group for the hospitality they have shown when I do go. I have all the tools for the fluid changes, I only ask you bring whatever fluids you want to use, filters, washers, etc. Also, if your going to be working on your own stuff and you have a tendancy to spill, feel free to bring degreaser or washing detergant (works wonders on oil spills). Like I said, I have a BBQ available if anyone wants to bring food to cook their lunch on, otherwise feel free to bring snacks/beer. I can't really store that much food-wise as the house is being fumigated this weekend and may not even be enter-able (is that a word?) so we are kind of stuck to the work areas so this is a BYOB BYOF event. I've got an obligation Sunday evening so my buddy (the mechanic) and I will probably be working on cars the whole time to get as much done as possible, but we have plenty of chairs, a BBQ, room to work and relax, etc. Since we seem to have a lot of cars, I'll be paying for his time from about Noon to Four to make sure we have plenty of help.

Dario, I've pretty much picked Sunday as long as no one has any major objection. If someone can't make it, I do car work a lot and have no problem doing it again a week or so down the line if someone else needs work done. I have room to comfortably work on three cars at a time (maybe four if I rearrange some stuff) out back, and we can store them out front and move them as we finish them if need be. Are you getting any work done to your S?

Also, since I've had a lot of people message me. After LOTS of research on s2ki I have found the following fluids to work great.

Engine - 10W30 Dino or Syntethic, I'm using Mobile 1 syntethic but this is up to you. Most people prefer the Honda PCX filter available at any Honda dealer, just make sure its the one for the s2k.

Tranny - If you don't have any grinds or shifting problems, I'd stick to Honda MTF (manual transmission fluid). If you do, some members like the GM Syncromesh Friction Modified version, I haven't found it locally though so haven't had a chance to test it.

Diff - I think the general opinion is LE 607 is the best stuff you can get for the diff, but you have to order it online from someone like ricks or hardtopguy. This is what I use in my diff, but unfortunitly I don't have any spare quarts right now. A lot of other members use Mobile 1 75W90 Gear Oil available at any autoparts store.

Clutch - Our clutch hydrallics use Dot 3 brake fluid. Dot 4 is acceptable but just stick to the Dot 3 stuff. Don't buy the stuff that says "exceeds Dot 3 and 4", get regular Dot 3 brake fluid.

I think that about covers it. Feel free to PM me (or my resident So-Fla JDM mechanic who should be posting sooner or later in this thread) if you have any other questions about supplies.

JC: Your more than welcome. I'm asking everyone to arrive around noon.

As far as what your car needs, if its been 5-6k miles since the new engine, it might be about time to change the oil unless the engine was new from the dealer in which case it might still have the factory fill that they recommend leaving for 7500 miles. Was it a brand new engine that was put in?

Also, what is the total amount of miles on the car? Perhaps other fluids are due as well. Chime back with more details and we'll let you know.
