More Seats Gone
No clue, I'd imagine they'd have to have something on them from the manufacture, if just for inventory tracking. Cops bluff all the time, tho. Kid knows his are stolen, thinks the cops are going to figure it out or aready know, and cooperates in hopes of leniency. Or he starts making excuses and talks himself into a corner.
Whatever, unfortunately, I doubt the cops would care enough to even try this (unless it was a cop's S2000 with the seats stolen, then they'd assign CSI to it). Probaby easier to just steal them back.

S2000 seats are untraceable, no serial numbers, vin numbers, nothing. Hence easy to steal and easy to get away with.
Also the stupid police won't do a damn thing. Trust me I know first hand the sad truth.

Seat locks on mine PLUS I've engraved #'s on them (not visible unless you KNOW where they are). The ID'ing on the seats won't prevent them from being stolen but it might help to recover them.I have often thought of having a shop add a secondary color (in my case, silver) to a section of the seat...to essentially create a two tone leather seat combo. If they get stolen, you'd know instantly (if someone else spotted 'em) they were stolen but on another note, you could call all the shops in your area and let them know you're missing those specific seats. The odds that someone would want to reskin them to get rid of the identifying marks would be a safe bet and all the shops could quickly ID 'em when they come in, assuming of course the shop owners are honest. That's another story altogether.
