Dario Luna was the saleman.I went to MAc's towing today after work and signed the release form to get what's left of my AP2 to get to where Progressive will make the estimate.Seems they cut the top and hotwired it.....What is the point of having an immobilizer if they can hot wire these? Things I found missing...headlights,taillights,wheels but left the lugnuts in trunk, both airbags, seats cluster, dash controls radio, shift knob,my prescription sunglasses.steering column is fubared, wiring everywhere.they left my sunpass,CDs,mshirt and my Bible....surprisingly they left the engine and tranny....I'm disappointed at these fools who couldn't ripout the powertrain in 24+hours.......according to the towing company they found my car at 1001 SE 20th street....You guys think my car can be considered as TOTAL LOSS? i know the top isn't cheap to replace...along with wheel/tires,and new bumper covers and seats and etc etc.....basically these idiots stole the "easy" cosmetic stuff...they are 2 bit thieves who live their daily life by stealing cars and ripping off wheels and interior parts to fund their crack cocaine bills. As an auto technician, I would have COMPLETELY removed all powertrain parts AND interior items. These guys suck in life.

Well on the 29th my AP2 was broken into. The top was slashed and seats stolen from a gated community in Hollywood. When the car gets out of the shop I will be taking it straight to get an alarm and installing my newly acquired seat locks. It

Ive delt with 2 fully built EK and DC2 cars in the pass that my brother and I have built that have gotten stolen..one from the mall and the other at the FIU parking garage..since then my brother left the scene but I just sold my hatch and got me the S...first thing I did tuesday morning the day after I purchased the S, was install the new clifford alarm system...$350 bucks well spent..even thought the hatch we had that was stolen had the same alarm system..it still helps me sleep a lil bit better at night that my S has one..next couple of checks ill be saving up for LoJack... oh and not to mention..hardtops are not only for looks but also do a great job in security..they cant get in by slashing ur top, instead they go threw your window...but thats where ur alarm kicks in.. Dude ive been through what your going through man...getting that phone call that they found ur car..hoping that they left the car intact...but it never turns out that way..sucks bro..i hope this doesnt discourage you from getting another S..keep ur head up man..

AMUSE_Me,

If its airbags, wheels, headlights, taillights, top and seats, dash, radio and steering column, it will be close to a total. They have to come up with 80% of the ACV (actual cash value) to total the vehicle. Based on what you are telling me, its going to be somewhere around $17000 to $19000 to replace all that, assuming your car is an 06 and they use all new parts. Running nada on an 05, it gives me an ACV of $21900, 80% of this is $17520. Its going to be really close, if your vehicle is an 06, then it will be harder to total since the ACV will be higher. Wait until you see how much the seats cost to replace. I work for an insurance company as well, and for the price of the seats, you can get some really nice Recaro Carbon Fiber buckets and still have money left over. I sorry to hear this has happened to you, in what condition was your neighbor's car when they found it. Who ever is doing this needs to be caught and killed!!! (ok a little extreme, but at least tortured!)

DARIO LUNA????? I WOULDNT be so quick to point fingers at rickcase...dario is a great guy and i vouch for him ....i think its very childish to be putting names out there for people that you have no clue about and pretty much blaming rick case for stealing....... also if you even say it your self that you live in the ghetto ....and a "thief" would see one s2000 outside you think he is not going to go for both? i will be completely honest about the people that work here at least the ones that would be able to "make a key"....we here got 5 s2000 vandalised and seats stolen here....and its been a while and we are still dealing with this ......
