Default My S is starting to buck when hot

I 'm new to this car, so I've reading about the lack of torque from a stand still and so on, so I've been reving up a little more on take off, but now when it is coasting at low speed in 2nd gear or 1st in stop and go traffic, it bucks. Do these AP's suffer from heat lock or is it something else? Help!!

LOL this is normal. Trust me, if freaked me out to when I first got the car, I thought something was wrong with it.

This is an easy fix. You can either gut your stock air box and/or purchase a snorkel which will eliminate the bucking. I've gutted my air box and almost never happens, unless I've been sitting in traffic for a very long time.

But, I suggest gutting the airbox and going from there.

edit: I just realized you have a CAI, is it a shortram??

Do have the full cold air intake or the short version. It's heat soak in the intake system. Thats normal

It is an Injen but is missing the piece that goes under the front bumper, so I have it facing the original air intake opening between the hood and the radiator, but it isn't insulated or cold air boxed.

Thats heat soak. See if you could get the other section or a cooling plate may help.

Pardon my ignorance, but "What is a cooling plate"? Also I don't like the idea of having the filter so close to the ground, with all the floods we get in this area!

Do a sheach for a AUT cooling plate. They have them in the group buy section on the forum. That should help direct some cold air to your filter.

dude... CAI = cold air intake

short ram refers to an intake that sits under the hood and therefore has shorter piping

anyway... try the snorkel. it has worked well for me in conjunction with dousing my MAP sensor with MAF cleaner

MAF cleaner is just what the name says it's a cleaning spray for MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensors. It's similar to carb cleaner except it's supposed to be sensor safe. especially on older cars there can be a lot of carbon buildup and such in or around the maf (or map)
