Default Need some help

Hey guys,

Anyone knows where I can pickup a 12pt 17mm impact socket locally around Palm Beach or Broward counties? or anyone has one that I can borrow for a day?

I am trying to remove that bitch of a flywheel and I already broke 2 Craftman sockets in the process ... Ideally I need to get this done by wednesday thats why I want to pick it locally ...

Thanks, Joaquin

I have an air compressor .... but browsing through sears and their website it did not seem they carried 12 pt impact sockets ...

Are you sure you used one of those black impact sockets?

I have a 600 ft/lbs gun and the regular sockets crack before anything loosens up ... it seems like Hercules tightened up those bolts along with the 17s that hold the tranny to the engine!! ...

i have a 400 ft/lbs gun and it did it with no problem, its not the black socket , but the one i have held like a soldier, ive done 5 s2k with it and it hasnt failed yet... ... NAPA has the impact sockets, so does autozone, and advance autoparts

Awesome, I will drive by Autozone and Advance ... hopefully they stock them.

I am not sure why those bolts are so damn tight ...no one has ever touched them but the factory. I have removed countless flywheels and never cracked a socket before

Thanks for the info, Joaquin

Back to square one ... neither Advance nor Autozone carry 12 pt impact sockets ...

Anyone else have any idea where can I find one? Otherwise I am going to have to stock up on regular ones and pray the bolts dont strip ...
