How can you say that Honda is not capable? They have been making race motors for years. F-1 and Indy are just two types of cars that have high performance, high output motors.
We are talking about Transportation vehicles of everyday use. Were not speaking about Race track Motors, Although Honda is very capable of producing power plants of that type of power for the Race divisions. Now civilian use is another story.

i won't knock the car until i see it in final production and see what it can do... until then everything is speculation.

also... unless they target the right market with the car... it may just turn out to be an overpriced honda. if it performs like or near super car status then so be it. but if it's a hair better than an nsx... ****a 150k

I'm a huge Toyota fan, HUGE!! But that MR2 is a very, very, very bad attempt at a Porsche Boxer......Awful, I'm so glad they scrapped it. I think Honda can serve its customers better if they learn from Lexus. You develop an engine like the NSX with at least 350 HP and drop it on an Acura LT Type S and call it Super LT or whatever and you continue to develop on that platform so you can stay competetive in the performance bracket but more for a general public (today

We are talking about the capacity to create something, not the track record of actually creating something like it. Two different things. Supercars have never been part of Honda/Toyota/Nissan's business models, that's why they haven't created any. It's not hard to make a car that can go 200mph (look at what american tuners do to Viper's & Corvettes, turbos & big tires).

The difference with a company like Honda is that should they decide to create a 200mph supercar, the design criteria would also include other parameters which over time have become "company policy". A Honda supercar would have to be just as reliable as the Fit, but be serviced at regular dealerships, it would have to be more efficient and get better fuel economy than it's competitors, etc.

The most effective 6 Cylinder engine Honda has ever produced is in the Accord LX or the Acura LT Type S wow true performance!!
Jesus, do you write your own stuff? The 3.0L J series V6's that came in the Accord/Odyssey is actually a very different engine than the C30A & C32B that came in the NSX. The original NSX's C30A made 270hp in 1991 out of a 3.0L. That was more specific output than any other NA 6 cylinder engine at the time, it took a full TWELVE years for Nissan to finally produce over 270hp out of it's VQ engine which is a 3.5L.

Do a Google search under concept cars and tell me how many Hondas show up under technology and innovation must searches I've done usually comes up with Lexus or Nissan not to mention the big boys which I'll address in a moment
You see what you want to see. I would rather Honda be a company that comes out with cars than just with design concepts. Concept cars are a medium that car companies use to show their design direction. For example, when Cadillac wanted to change their company image, they started to release concept cars that exaggerated that new look to get a reaction. Nissan did the same thing a while back, just because Honda/Toyota don't do that doesn't mean they lack technology & innovation.

...as for the Aston Martin I'll like to see Honda try that I assure you it will leak oil just like the F20C!!
Not even going to bother with this one, comparing a Honda engine with an Aston Fordtin. Also, my old F20C, new F20C, and my F22C have NEVER leaked oil...

[QUOTE]Let me explain my thinking, The 200+ MPH cars should be left to the big boys Aston Martin, McLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Mercedes Benz, Porsche etc. they've been doing it for a long time and have the experience plus they are the true innovators when it comes to advance alloys and

It may seem like I'm nitpicking but it's one thing to have an opinion (which everyone is entitled to) but when the opinions are unfounded (or founded by erroneous information) I think they warrant scrutiny. I'd hate for someone to come on to our forum and think that none of us know the difference between a SOHC V6 from an Accord and a DOHC high compression/wide angle VTEC V6 from an NSX...
