Default Orange bowl trip

If Penn State goes to the Orange Bowl we are coming south. The hotels we will be looking into are the alexander or the fountainebluea near south beach. Anyone know which is nicer? Reading reviews gives two completely different views from horrible to awesome. Where are the places to go for fun and food? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to going to miami for a couple days, I have only been there for a few hours before a cruise leaving out of miami.

Thanks

Jay

Check out the LOEWS Hotel, on Collins and I think 16th ST. You wont be disappointed. Then have a party and give an open invitation to the SF click..

We are going with a package deal, those are the only choices I have unfortunatly. But once there we are game to meet some where in the south beach area. Is there anywhere to rent an s2000 for a couple days? We could make a drive out of it also. That would be awesome!!!!!!! What a weekend, Penn State and a drive-meet.

My cousin stayed at the Fountainbleau when she was down here for a convention. The rooms are fairly nice and a great location. No experience with the other hotel. (meaning right on the beach.)

Hot spots on South Beach are plentiful. Clevelandor is a very popular spot music, atmosphere, and good party crowd.

Good luck!

If all else fails, I have 10 tickets I could let a few go for what I paid.

PM me if you are interested.

Both hotels are about the same age. They were both out-of-control in the 80' and 90's. The Alexander is mostly condo's but they have rooms available for renting. It's been kept up pretty nicely. The Fountainebleu, however, would be a much better pick in the sense that it's more of a resort type stay. It's got a much, much nicer pool area with bars and stuff like that. If you're looking for some quiet and more homey, The Alexander. If you want to have a little fun and enjoy the Florida weather, it's definitely the Fountainebleu.

My wife and I stayed at the Loews this past weekend and it was awesome. They went out of their way to specially set up the room as I wanted without any additional charges. I definitely recommend the Loews.

Also the W is coming to South Beach soon. They are taking over where the Holiday Inn currently is at.

Are you looking to stay closer to the stadium, or do you just want to be in South Beach?

If you don't mind staying off of South Beach try the Diplomat in Hallandale. Its closer to where they play the game and its a Westin hotel so its quite nice.
