Default PDA iPAQ repair?

Hey all---

I use my iPaq for navigation in the car (tomtom navigator)

i dunno if it was the heat or cracking the screen, but the thing wont go out of the startup screen even after a hard reset. I've given up, I just want to send it to or take it to someone for repair.

does anyone know of anyone locally or even online?

google turned up pdasmart.com but the reviews on resellerratings.com were horrible.

any suggestions??

Sounds like you're out of warranty, huh? HP will charge through the nose to fix it, but it will work perfectly.

Did you try http://www.ipaqrepair.com/?

Yea I bought this thing brand new when I first started college. Warranty gone. Even still i broke it so I dont think it would be covered.

I looked at iPaqRepair.com but I read some pretty bad reviews on resellerratings.com --- they are the same company as pdasmart.com

anyone know of anyone else locally?

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The prices of some of these repair sites were just so astronomical I just decided to buy a used one on Ebay exactly like the one I've got.

I'll probably put my old one back up on ebay an list it as is for parts.

It came with like 3 chargers, and 2 USB cables, and 2 manuals etc... all in addition to the one extra set I've got so when i put all that up for sale if i get like 20-30 bucks for it--- it'll make it all bascially the same as if i were to repair mine.

Thanks for the tips though!

hey perhaps i will contact the place u gave me the number for-- see how much it is to fix it, and then put up for sale the fixed PDA.

we'll see.
