Thanks for posting the pics so fast! It was nice meeting you yesterday, I hope to see you come out and compete in some future events.
The silver S2000 driver is James, who won the class with a blisteringly fast time of 69.019 seconds. I took second place, about 0.9 seconds behind him. Results are posted here.
The third place finisher, also driving an S2000 , did an excellent job on street tires, finishing ahead of several cars running race tires.
There were 8 cars in the class, with 4 S2000s, a Toyota MR2 turbo, a Porsche 968 and 2 BMW M3s. Hondas ruled: 1-2-3 and 7th!
It was a lot of fun - hope to see more of you at the next event on Saturday October 4 (school and practice) and Sunday the 5th (race).

Here's how it works:
1) Wake up real early.
2) Drive to event and prepare your car, register and have your car checked by tech.
3) Walk the course
4) Walk the course again
5) Hang out in the hot sun all day long, mostly watching other cars fly around the course
6) Drive real fast 3 or 4 times
7) Pack up your car
8) Drive home with a sunburn and big grin on your face.
Seriously, autocross events are a chance to find out just how fun this car is and to compete against friendly drivers in other cars. There are three nearby autocross clubs, Equipe Rapide that holds events in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area, Gulf Coast Autocrossers out of Fort Myers and Ecurie Vitesses in the Florida Keys. All you need to do to drive is bring a valid driver's licence and a car in good mechanical condition. Since the loaner helmets are pretty nasty, it's a good idea to bring one yourself. Most clubs accept motorcycle as well as autosports helmets. Hope to see you at our next event in Hialeah, check the Equipe Rapide website for the schedule.
