it means BMW is running the factory team w/ Rahal Leterman Racing, instead of Prototype Technology Group... who's run BMW since the 70's and campaigned the e46 m3's.

never really seen the m3's blow up in alms, from the I6 to the 4.0L V8 in 2001. Im sure engine failures occur, but u can't be talking about the bearing failures that happened w/ the 2002 m3's, cause that problem was resolved and had nothing to do w/ the motorsport program.

alms came down about ummmmmm maybe 4 years ago and ran the downtown circut in which the m3 's that were running 2 that I recall and which where in dead last blew there engines early in the race.

and at the 12 hours of sebrings they did even finish the last time they ran. the m3s last victory was in 2001 in alms. other than that.
