I'm sure this post willl start a whole new ration of Sh_t. However, I feel obligated to post

As most of you know, I was selling my PRM intake. It has been sold and shipped. The bad news is my Comptech Icebox was on back order and just shipped yesterday. So here I am with no Intakefor the next 1-2 weeks. I went into my attic and dragged down my stock intake.

It has been installed, and I have left the cover off (I would need to remove the strut brace to get the cover back on.

Anyway to the point of my story.

I am driving a completely different car. the throttle responce is sluggish, and the pick up is much less aggressive. For the record I disconnected my battery for about 20 Min, while I was installing the intake-to allow the ECU to reset with the intake change.

I do understand that heat soak is most definately an issue at stop lights, even on the highway in V-tech acceleration is significantly slower

Say what you will about the PRM.... My built in G-timer (seat of my pants) says the PRM produced significant gains, and increased throttle responce and performance. I'm only sorry I couldn't go from the PRM directly to the Comptech to feel that difference.

Let the games begin.........

To each his own, if the PRM was so good....you and Russ wouldn't have gotten rid of yours.

I also got rid of my Comptech that YOU subsequently now own? According to your logic above, what would THAT imply?

Of course you're free to swap out your Comptech for Ritchie's PRM on the next dyno
day and put yer moola on the line. A simple 15 minute swap. Dyno the Comptech,
remove the main tube, replace it quickly with the PRM and have at it. I bet the PRM makes more horsepower. I would bet money on it (having owned both). The question my friend is this....would you?

Assume correctly that the gauntlet has been thrown down. If Ritchie isn't willing, I'm
sure we can scrape up another PRM, albeit less blingy. It would be interesting if nothing else.

Sure, I'd be willing to do that. However it would serve no purpose because when the Comptech dyno's more (because it will) then you both will say that the PRM only works at speed.

I chose to go with the comptech because I think it may be better than the PRM. My point had nothing to do with comparing to the comptech, it had to do with the characteristics of the car, now that is has the stock air box back in it. There were demonstrable gains with the PRM, is it better than other intakes, hmmm I don't know, I haven't tested them myself.

If you read all the posts regarding PRM on the site, I think you will find many more people that had or have it, liked it.

IMHO the Comptech is very similar to the PRM in concept, only at a higher level. We will see in a couple of weeks, when I finally get to install mine. Personally I hope the Comptech does dyno higher, that's why I bought one. I thing the PRM will dyno higher than stock, which has been the argument all along.
