Thumbs up Question abouts Rims and Sizes

Im thinking about getting a set of rims.

I know the Stock set up is 17x7.0 / 17x8.5 but i was thinking of going 17x7.5 or 8 / 17x9.

Would this set up be a good idea?
would the car grip and handle Better?
What about matching size all around is that better?
Also what about tire sizes what would be the best set up for this?
And Offset i have no idea what that i would need.

I think it would depend on what you want to do with the car.

Is it for show/autocross/track days etc? Each option is totally different.

I don't think a larger tire will get you *that* much more cornering speed-if anything-you'd want a gripperer tire.

Alex (fyrestrike) & Rene (Prospect S) will have a better answer than me.

The best way to do it is to pick a wheel style that you like, then figure out what offset/width options they have make that fit the S2000. For handling I'd go no bigger than a 17", tires are cheaper too.

+45 offset seems to be the limit for a 9" rim with at the rear without causing too many headaches. For street I think it's the best look. Deep enough for a decent lip but still sits flush with the fender. You might have to roll your fenders a little if you're lowered. Run it with a 245 tire, or a 255 if you're willing to go for a little more negative camber. With higher offsets (lower number) you'll need to run very aggressive camber, especially if slammed. Some people manage to fit +35 9" rims and run them without problems.

Edit:
Here are some RPF1 in 17x8" front, 17x9" rear, both in +45 offsets. Tires are 215 front & 255 rear:

To give you another data point on wheel fitment, I have the 17" Volk ce28n setup.

front:17x7.5" +50 offset w/225/45 tire
rear:17x9" +63 offset w/255/40 tire

The high rear offset helps to tuck the wheels inside the fender.
