will this tire and rim set up work?
I am going to buy rims and tires for my baby, and the company of the rims say that they don't make staggered sizes.
here are the sizes:
rims: katana gr7 18x7.5
tires: 225/40r18
I am currently happy with the stock set up and am trying to keep with around the same performance.
Will I really feel the difference with a wider front tire?
has anyone tryed this paticular rim ....
thx Dave.

Well put Nimesh
He's right though. People have done it, but I definately wouldn't recommend it. Besides, I'm sure the offsets on those non-staggered rims will be WAY to low...

So I gather that it is best to stay at
225/50 rear
205/55 front
no matter what!!!
is 18x7.5 okay though or what would you recomend.
and what after market rim company offers staggered sizes then..

The front stock size is 6.5 so 7.5 would be fine, but I agree you want to hold out for a staggered setup.

Someone correct me if im wrong but 18x7.5 is slightly narrow, even for the front.

You have to research this way more. Those tires are the WRONG size. The diameter is too large.
Its Volk Racing, not Vaulk. Ive got a set of 18 inch Volk Racing GT-Cs and love them BUT:
Ive got 8.5 inch in the front with a 225/40 tire and a 50 offset. In the rear Ive got 9inch with 255s/35, but the rears were milled 5mm to 55 offset.
You know how people are jamming bigger gears into the car to make it accelerate faster and make it feel like its got more addressable power? Well, by putting tires that are the size you described, youd be doing the opposite. Youll make the car feel like a dog.
