Default Saud's "What Is This?" Thread

So being new to my S2000 there are a few components I'm not familiar with (hopefully nothing too important) I just need some help identifying what I'm looking at. Also, my VTEC is not working (car accelerates past 6k without any "kick" at WOT)so maybe something is related? Any help would be greatly appreciated and I'm going to try to be at Flannigans tonight for anyone that's willing to help. Thanks!

So what were looking at is that red piece by the clutch reservoir, those two plugs dangling under my fuse box, and that cracked box which i think was part of the OEM airbox.

That car must be running like crap.

That car use to be super charged and still has some of the fuel components installed. Id bet some of the ecu stuff is still in there affecting vtec.

The red thing is a Comptech or SOS rising rate fuel pressure regulator.

That black box is suppose to hold vacuum

and those plugs in your hand look like they may belong to the high beam to the headlight.

id check your motor mounts too cause it looks like the cross member may be dented in. That is caused by the blower when the motor mounts sag.

Shit, thanks for the help. The fact that the car might have been supercharged before kinda worries me. How can you tell? And what would I have to remove/replace in order to get this car back to stock?

Also, I haven't pulled out the ECU to see what its running. I'm assuming our stock ECUs cant be tuned so they must have swapped it out for something like a P28 or Flashpro

The fuel pressure reg is only for super chargers.

The ecu may be running a plug and play piggy back.

The car seems to be running fine to me except for the VTEC. Comparing it to my last car which was a Prelude with a H23Vtec it feels like about the same amount of torque i just have no top end.

My solenoid seems fine, took it apart and all the seals were in tact as well as the screen was completely clean.

Bryan, you were 100% correct. I found this attached to my ECU, should i be able to just cut this out and revert my car back to stock?

You need to cut that off... and take off the pressure regulator. It should be easy to source an oem pressure regulator on craigslist or on the for sale section.
