Sold The S
Almost 8 years ago, I picked up a pristine 2002 New Formula Red S2000 with 29K miles and it was bone stock accept for an intake. The car was my first real sports car and it never gave me a problem in 7.5 years and 135K miles driven. In fact, I don't think I've owned any piece of machinery that has been that reliable. I never abused her but the car saw 9k every damn day and it's the most fun on 4 wheels that I've ever experienced. The car saw a few mods over the years: Tanabe Concept G Dual exhaust, Berk testppe, VAFC tune, F&F coilovers, OEM Hardtop, OZ Allegerita wheels, BYS spoiler, and audiophile grade equipment in the doors/trunk. The car was modded perfectly to my tastes and always got a lot of attention (most unwanted). Unfortunately, it was time to move on.
My main reasons for selling were:
A)I will not have the luxury of having access to a garage anymore and I would die from anxiety if I had to leave the S outside.
B) I drive 15K miles a year just going to work and I never thought I'd say this but the S started to grow tiresome on the daily grind. Revving the piss out of it is cool and all but sometimes I wish I didn't have to. I'm a fairly tall guy and the S was never uncomfortable but I found myself yearning for a bit more comfort from a daily (f@#k, i'm getting old).
I truly believe I will own another S2000 in the not too distant future if I can find a clean one. I haven't been very active on this forum in a while but I've met some great people and learned a lot in nearly 8 years. I am now knee deep in the domestic world (sort of).
I picked up a 2006 Pontiac GTO (ahem, Holden Monaro) manual with 37K miles a few months back and I'm loving it. Nowhere near as light on its feet as the S, transmission is crude in comparison, and the suspension is a bit soft but dat torque tho.. Car came with a Magnaflow exhaust and i've added catless mids, a Lingenfelter intake, and a tune. She's somewhere in the neighborhood of 360-370 whp but I'm shooting for 400 with long tubes, FAST intake manifold, ported throttle body, and a retune.

If you see random black GTO honking at you, don't be afraid to shoot a honk back!

We gave up our sports car when we joined the "domestic world". When the kids grew up and got off our car insurance, we decided it was time again to own a sports car. That's when we got our S2000. I hope you are able to get another S2000 in the future and it doesn't take as long as we did.
Salute.
I'll definitely pick up another S in the future as a second car. I still stare and turn my head every time I see an S on the road. The S2000 community is also amazing in comparison to the Goat community as it is slowly dying.
Thanks. I really do miss her.
I took the dog for a walk the other day and saw your car parked in the driveway. I hadn't seen it in awhile and it was fairly stock from what I remember. Looks sharp with the wheels and HT. Veilside spoiler?

It's the JDP Engineering Spoiler. Fitment is not bad, but not perfect. Love the way it looks from the back though.
