DEFINITELY AGREE!!!! I can't place any blame because I do not know who did it, but I clearly posted before the meet that I encouraged everyone to bring snacks and drinks....it did not mean that anyone could just help themselves to mine when we weren't around. I'm not generally a person who denies things to anyone who asks, but I did not appreciate not having a single soda or water to drink when I got back to my THREE coolers!!!! Thanks a bunch....

If i'm not mistaken... your car has a trunk that can fit a cooler in it...

Forgive me if I am mistaken, but it sounds as if there is quite a bit of complaining here. First of all, this is a "get-together." No one was forced to park where they were, you were free to move about and go to other parts of the park. But all that aside, just planning an event like this where everyone can attend is difficult enough without people complaining about what they would like more of when they didn't think for themselves knowing they'd be in hot weather all day. Gee, I don't know, but that told me to take some drinks with.....of which I had none to drink because others took them.

Dario, if you ask me, stop planning meets. This is truly exhausting for those of us who attend weekly meets and still try to find other things to do to include those who don't care to ever meet with us at any other time. Take it upon yourselves to plan an event and see if you like the job.

Again, I apologize if I'm misunderstanding the comments above but they sound like complaining to me.

I think the meet turned out nicely, there were lots of nice cars to see and it was great meeting new people. Good job, Dario and thanks for the work you put into this. (Just trying to find a date that suits everyone was hard enough!!!)

Wow ppl this isn't a thread to complain... more of a thread to share the pictures of this great turnout and event that we had yesterday...

Di you are right you did state to bring plenty of water and drinks for the park... but you actually didn't have to, everyone here is grown up enough to know what to bring and if they do not then they alone are at fault for it... I did bring plently of water and offered whoever needed, and I am sure many others did as well..

So lets enjoy the pics and next time you go to a meet and go hungry or thirsty don't complain to the event planners, keep in mind this was merely a location to meet that they were planning not a party or event with plenty of food and drinks.

Now..

You know.. i'd heard this (cooler raid) and thought it was a joke...

I will say this much... each event.. At least the 3 of us.. Di Dario and myself, carry coolers with candies, drinks, sandwich meats, bread, chips etc.... for people... but mostly in truth.. the 'regulars'.

I can safely say.. that between the 3 of us.. $200 came out of personal expenditures to see this particular thing off.

Last time I checked, of the 65+ attendees ( registrants ), there wre only 15 people who paid the $7 for the sandiwch option. That means 50 people said, "they forgot"

For the record, I would also like to share my answer to questions posed yesterday.

" Yes, we could have chose a closer place to 'you' "
" Yes, we could have chosen a better place for a 'group drive'" (further)
" yes, we could have rented a pavillion (provided that more than 15 ppl would end up contributing ) "
" Yes, dario could have cooked like a maniac all day again "
" No, we couldn't have brought more coolers as 3 s2ks can only carry 3 coolers "
" yes, we could have chosen a cooler day "
" yes, we could have picked a better day for everyone " ( what with school vacaiton/ jobs/ autocrosses/track events/weddings/finals - i'm sure we could ahve picked a more convient day for everyone.)
" i'm sorry i closed the karting thread "
" yes, i should have thought about karting sooner "
" no, i didn't think to pick up some zephyrhills too "
" yes, i know friday is a party night and i'm sorry for picking saturday "
" yes, it would be nice to have a ladder/platform to take the group picture from "
" we forgot to post about the $1 entrance fee to the park "

forgive me if i sound a litttle peeved.

Now then, thanks to all those who attended...

we hope you had a great time... and if you didn't.. don't wanna hear it...

I do hope that my burnt ears comment didn't come off as a complaint. Hell I stayed until almost 8:00

it was meant as humor, not a complaint.

I did bring my own lunch and drinks. cause I'm just not a subway fan.

I can certainly appreciate the time and effort that went into getting so many people to a single event. it was the most S's I have ever seen in one place.

As far as the free loaders go, they all know who they are, and In the future, let them all fend for themselves.

just a thought that I think might make the lives of the planners a bit easier,

See if someone (I'll not mention any names) would consider brigning out a hot dog cart, and let everyone buy what is being offered

Ok, I'm getting off my soap box now

Dario, I know we have had our differences in the past..... and I would personally like to thank you Di and Warren for all their hard work to pull this off.
