Your right.. the instant Biff went back and gave the Almanac to 1955 Biff, that would have changed 1985 and 2015 for the worse.. It should have transformed around him into a POS. Or, if Marty wasn't alive in that time zone. He would have disapeared. And we know that Doc was commited. So..

I am staying within the confines of the rules set forth in the movie. More to the point, there's nothing that says the new future has to be drastically different, only different. In the new future, an ant may decide to go left at the stop sign instead of right... still a different future, but not noticable using our macro lenses.

 

Perhaps you are not remembering the 'right' movie...

Dr. Brown picks up marty and travels to the 'Ok future'....

While there... Future Biff steals the Delorean and Give past Biff the almanac...

Future Biff returns to 'ok future'...

When marty time jumps back to 'present'... its 'hell like'... a hell where present biff owns everything....

If you were following a tree branch back in time... that 'hell present' couldn't be before the 'ok future'....

The movie sets about rules that indicate.. when he got in the way of his parents meeting.. he began to dissolve.. thus.. the past he affected was a predecessor to his own future....

It also sets about these rules b/c when 'past Biff' gave past biff the almanac.. the 'present' changed...

During the storm... the delorean is hit.. and within a few seconds the postal service delivers the message from the past... again.. we have a past instance 'immediately' affecting the future...

also.. ( this is a bit of cheating.. ) BTTF3 .. when he declines the race.. narrowly avoiding that accident.. his 'future pink slip' fax.. dissolved w/in seconds...

which also presents somewhat of a paradox.. b/c if it changed.. how was he able to retain that memory of his future self being fired....

Now then... If you want to use the quantum universe theory.. that you could end up in any reality... then no change would really matter b/c it only happens in the parituclar universe/dimension that you are in.... and in a parrallel simulateous dimension.. it also doesn't happen.. leaving the possibility of the future you came from...

Why when Old biff gave Young biff the almanac, and traveled back into the future, Did he not travel into an already alterd Future? Leaving Doc and marty in a Time paradox, a plane that was never to exist now?

Simple, because the movie would of been over...


You know what makes me laugh, doc caused all this trouble, just cause marty was gonna get fired...SHEESH
