Didn't know you were an avid Max user. Keep it up! You have some good lines there. Should look good. If you need helping rendering it, let me know. =D

Where do you teach it? I don't work for anyone, but id like to get a job somewhere that i can progress in and learn more as well

Ive never used NURBS, this one is done from 1 plane which is extruded by edges. I think i can do tons better if i stuck to box modeling.
I teach High School. I've been pushing to teach adults but the state hasn't approved it yet. Polygon modeling is great for games and you can obtain great results but if you want hyper realism like TV commercials etc. you need to work with NURBS surfaces.
As to getting hired by someone. It's good to know many different software packages but most of the big boys (companies) are going to ask you if you know Maya. I started teaching Max but with the current trend going towards Maya I suggest you put all your efforts into Maya instead and as Arcadence mentioned since Autodesk owns Max and Maya now they have the best support. I just upgraded to version 8.0 and I had an issue with the licenses and Autodesk call me within half an hour after I've emailed them in contrast with Alias some times would take six months to get an answer back, terrible
