If you're going to do the Volks maybe we can order them at the same time and try and figure out a way to get them up and/or save on shipping. I'm sitting at 80% on just saying forget it and ordering them. I'll know within a couple weeks.

If I order them, I'll be getting them shipped to Ogdensburg and driving down it's only 45 min from Ottawa. I'll just lie at the freakin' border they won't know jack.

Hehe. That works. I'm freaking paranoid about border crossings. Ten years ago when I had my del Sol I drove down to Erebuni in Bed Stuy, NYC to pick up a Supra style wing. Yeah, I know... anyway. It was unpainted, but I got it mounted. I drove straight down, took a nap at my cousin's house and drove straight back. The only thing in my trunk was the recept and a poster they gave me.

I thought I was so smart having it mounted on the car. I thought I was totally safe. At the border they asked me if I had anything to declare. I smiled smugly and said "nope"! They pulled me off to the side after finding out I was only in the country for 16 hours "to say hi to my cousin". Stupid, but it gets worse.

They opened the trunk and found the receipt. After that they made me empty my pockets looking for more receipts. I pulled out a pack of rolling papers and they freaked out. Asking me all these questions about how often I smoked pot and did I have any in the car, etc. They got the dogs to search through it, but luckily they found nothing. They said "if we find so much as one seed in the car you're spending the night in jail". I knew there was nothing in there, but what if I dropped something under the seat and didn't know?

They ended up charging me $25 for the duties on the wing and I went home.

Haha, trick is to always declare SOMETHING. Plus border crossing at Ogdensburg is pretty small, no big cities around.
