$10,000 Fine for Street Racing
Hey guys,
Just wanted to pass this on I was reading it today in the paper...
here is the link
http://www.thestar.com/News/article/202704
What do you guys think?
If we all got together for a meet and we were all speeding 15kms above the limit does that mean the police have the right to impound all our cars and give use $2000 to $10,000 fines? Or are they going to use this for more sever cases?
any way thought this might be good to pass on...

Street racing is really something the media likes to make seem like a big story. I am not justifying it, just saying that it is really overblown.
I am going to make an educated guess that way more people get injured and die in Ontario every year by taking cell calls while driving!!! This shouldn't be legal, and there should be big fines for this.
Drunk driving is a much, much larger problem than street racing, yet the media covers street racing as much as drunk driving.
How many people were injured or died street racing last year? I can only remember the story of the couple celebrating their 17th anniversary. Tragic, but hardly commonplace.

Street racing has drama attached and is reckless risk-taking. Drunk driving is boring and stupid and a little sad. News and politics favour interesting headlines far more than important ones.

Tell me about it!
I won't make it the end of my street without being slapped with a fine.
So much for trying this Top Gear test. http://www.racingfilm.com/videos/MISC/Top_...ing_Photo_Radar
