2016 Niagara Cruise: Round 2 [Sunday September 11th]
We're doing another one! Many people have asked so our 2nd Niagara Cruise this year will be happening on Sunday September 11, with a rain date for the following Sunday September 18th. It's a very relaxing and social cruise, and the *opposite* of what the August Muskoka cruise is like.
For those who've never been on one of our cruises, this usually involves about 3-4 hours of driving, including pit stops for photos, snacks, etc., with an ending on the Niagara Parkway for some great scenery. At the end of the cruise, some take off, but a bunch of us usually stay around to grab a bite. Post up if you can make it!
MEET UP LOCATION: Casablanca Rest Stop (Click for Google Maps)
MEET UP TIME: 11am (Socialize and gas)
DEPARTURE TIME: NOON SHARP
CRUISE ROUTE: TBD
GENERAL POINTERS:
1. Bring a radio if you have one (Channel 4)
-This is, quite possibly, the most important thing to bring. It'll prevent you from getting lost and it makes the ride more fun with the ongoing chatter.
2. Keep your headlights on
-It makes a big difference to be able to see the tail lights in front of you and the headlights in your mirrors.
3. 2-Car Rule
-Whenever you make a turn or are getting on/off the highway, make sure you can see 2 cars behind you before turning.
-if you really must turn because you're holding up traffic, then stop right after the turn so the car behind you can see you (there may have been a few cars between you guys).
4. Stay within the yellow and white lines
-This really isn't an issue on the Niagara cruise, but we cannot emphasize this enough - safety is paramount and we're on public roads.
-If you cannot stay between the lines, then you're driving beyond your limit.
