350Z impressions??
My pops is thinking of trading the GTI VR6 in once my sister's 20AE GTI arrives. One of the car's he is really considering is the 350Z. I think its a really sharp looking car just like the S2k is. Both have a unique beauty to them.
Anyone here had a chance to test drive one yet? What are your impressions on the car?.....I dont want to turn this thread into an S2k vs 350Z debate. So just in general....
Anyone know of any Nissan dealers they would reccomend???
Thanks for your help...you guys ROCK!

From personal experience and I didn't drive it but I sat in the car and I don't like it. There is nothing about the interior design or layout that I like personally. Now of course this is a subjective thing but I couldn't spend $50K on a car that drives well but makes me cringe everytime I get into it. How about the RX-8? Or is he looking strictly at a two seater sports car?

Tough question.. there aren't that many 2 seater sports cars in that price range.. It's either the Z, the S, the BMW Z roadster, Audi TT, Boxter but now we're getting pricey.. If you are looking for similar performance the RX-8 is right up there for cheaper but it's a rotary engine that needs to be revved to 9K, which is not for everyone... Other than that I can't think of others.. maybe a 330 coupe? How much is a.. gasp.. Corvette? WRX STi?

Z roadster looks
Audi TT - not enough performance
WRX - Is a 4 door
RX-8 - not a fan of Rotary engines
Boxster - maybe...
330 Coupe - maybe..
Corvette - maybe..but GM quality
the last 3 are up above the price range of the 350Z..What about the G35 coupe??

Ian,
The 350Z is a great car. Personally, I liked the looks at the Auto Shows, but don't particularly like it on the street. I think it's too bulbous looking, I like my sports cars, wide, low and lean, and the 350Z definitely isn't lean.
Looks aside, I think it's a great car, though. The way your dad drives, he could lose his license - it's a lot faster than a VR6.
Honestly, I would rather get a G35 Coupe with the Brembo brakes and whatnot. I think that its a better looking car overall, with a much better interior quality.
But if there was no S2000, I would be ripping around in an RX8, myself. I love that car.
