Default Anyone familiar with Halifax?

So im buying a S2000 ( couldnt stay away from the s2k for long)
from Halifax this weekend, and I want to get it inspected before I buy it.

The maritime section of the forum is not very active so I dont have much answers, but is anyone here familiar with any mechanics over there?

I been looking online for some places, I am considering Yullie Auto. I am wondering would it be safer to stick to a Honda dealer instead.
And should I do a compression test. Not much km on it though..under 100k
Any advice would be great

Thanks

My car had 85k when I bought it, no inspection, no compression test. Just did a car proof and packed a couple gears and handed over the bag of moneys

The Honda dealer can inspect it for around $100.

I wouldn't buy an S without doing a compression/leak down... Unless it had less than 20k on it . The dealer wouldn't do a leakdown or compression test unless you specified.

If you think it's necessary you can do a compression/leak-down test in the seller's driveway. Just need the gauge and pull the plugs. No need to pull the valve cover. Take your own tools. Couple of hours flight. 18 hour drive home! I did 18 hours in my '06 last week -- but I had a 3 day rest in the middle of it. Surprisingly good drive but I fit in the seat very well.

To be honest... if i was the seller... I wouldn't let a random start taking parts off the car (especially the engine) in my driveway regardless of what automotive background he had.

I never did a compression test on my car either (had 70k when i bought it) and all is fine lol
