Diawa is very nice but we were all about Shimano as they have the best gearing out there, found on many bikes and other things. But as of late I have moved over to Abu Garcia.

I got the first anti back lash bait casting one on the market still have the box right now in my room with the short handle. Overall I would have to say I have 18 rods with 2 huge bags of tackle. I know newer stuff comes out but I wish some of the older stuff hadnt been discontinued. Pheonix salted plastics were amazing they still make them but not in the smoke salt and peper leach anymore. I swore by that and I think I only have 2 left and I wont use them unless its a tournament. Smallmouth around docks, saddles and sand flats go nuts for them. I have caught everything in those lakes except the famed Muskie. My family has been on Rice lake for generations, and I still need to catch a muskie. I had one on around this island called West Grape and the blasted thing broke my $300 shimano rod in half.
