Default Anyone Run a J's Snorkel for Long term ?

I got a J's Racing Kevlar snorkel and hope to run it for the long term with the oem air box. Just wondering if it holds up well in long term use. Looks like a nice piece, but I've never used any kevlar or cf under hood. I know Kevlar is a strong material but it is very thin and I know they can crack in some situations. I've got it adjusted and I adjusted the hood and put in some padding for extra insurance. Thanks for any replies.

I have spoon Kevlar snorkel
Ive had it for at least 2 years and love it
Has some rub marks from hood but is incredibly strong
Don't have any doubts it will hold up and it really kicks in at 50mph+

Thanks Paullo, that is great to know, sounds like they are pretty tough . Looking forward to running it above 50 mph, it sounds like a great way to reduce the effect of heat soak.

I think even my CAI had heat soak on the very hottest days, ever so slightly. Man I miss that intake It gave the best mid range I ever felt.

I don't know why you sold it. all you needed was an umbrella

He needed the ASM/Toda electrical tape mod to cover the drain hole above the filter along the hood shame it takes 8 months to arrive from japan!

It does a good job on hot days
Forgot to mention I bought it from Chris, I'm pretty sure he ran it for a while as well so they do hold up
Only downside is I find I'm vacuuming out the air box and filter often
It sucks in a lot of bugs

Ya I almost wish that I still had that spoon duct. It's very durable. It will crack slightly, but just the coating.
And yes Paul, it does suck in a lot of cr@p when cruising around. This was the only downside that I saw.

I got to drive the car today with the nice weather, the cold air pick-up is really nice, almost no heat soak issues while driving all day today, the car felt very consistent from first start up to the end of day. I think I'll like this better than an aftermarket CAI. Feels good, and doesn't look too bad either.
