Default Civic SIR dropped!

No more SIR's for Canada, what's next? S2000??

Toronto, Ontario - Honda Canada announced that the 2005 Civic SiR will not be imported to Canada "due to exchange rate costs". The Civic SiR hatchback is built in England.

exchange rate? More like slow sales because the car was overpriced/underpowered/small tires..

Wonder if we will continue to get it, called just Si here.
I sure don't see many of them around.
In fact, I see more CRX-Si than I do Civic Si

I think it was more due to slow sales. Dealers couldnt make any money from these cars. Back in 99-00 the SiR was ~22-23,500. For the performance, it was a way better buy plus the dealers couldnt keep them on the lot. $25,500 for the new SiR and the performance wasn't there. Dealers were selling these way below MSRP...sometimes at cost...

yea it is ugly but if they sold the Civic Type R here, i bet it would sell-out. Especially, if the price was reasonable....

I don't know about that.

Most of the boy racers out there that would be all over it wouldn't be able to afford the insurance...
