Crashed S2000
Hey Leon,
I'm the guy that was walking when I saw your ride sitting on the road Dead
Please remember to check your tires often!! You can take every driving school in the world and still spin out with worn tires.
Happy to see that you where OK and I'm sure you ride will be up and running in no time

My gf spun out in front of me before while driving her civic in the rain. It looks pretty scary. Glad to hear that ok...
Everyone seems to have a story about spinning out. I haven't spun out yet and I hope I won't.
Are there precautions that I should take to prevent it. I don't speed in the rain and I have not yet experienced the cold . Any advice would be good.

Money,
My advice to you is do NOT drive in cold weather, ie. 10 deg or below. Like Vince mentioned, the S20's are fantastic....in there environment. If you are going to drive in the winter, you HAVE to switch to winter tires...If you stick to the S20's in winter, start digging your grave...

Bah... if you learn how to really drive the car is controllable. My rears are near bald, is in all sub-tread is gone, plus I'm on mismatched, S02's in the front and Yok Intermediates (or whatever they're called in the rear).
That said, the worse condition your tires, the more effort and care to handle it.
Take the BMW school. I wouldn't take an Ian Law one, and i haven't been able to get to the Saab ones but the BMW one is a 2 day affair, you learn all you need to know to get hooked on track driving.
I did my first BMW school on S02's in the wet, and while in the dry I was getting mostly passed, once it started raining, I started passing. They are a pretty damned good tire. But this is a rear wheel drive vehicle that requires a certain level of skill to drive it safely.
Anyhow, just a curb. Glad to hear you're okay.
BTW, I saw a silver one getting loaded onto a flatbed at the top of the 427 on Friday around 2:30...anyone we know?

I'm in agreement with Taylor, don't blame the equipment unless a wheel falls off.
Spining out in the rain or dry is the drivers fault regardless of tires and it's just a symtom of driving too fast for the conditions.
I think anyone who has never taken a "Performance" or racing school should take one. Ian's skid school or the BWM Canada skid school should be good and it's cheap. after that move up to a school that takes you onto a track like the BMW club school.
