Do NOT buy the 2nd hand Comptech in Markham.
I found the ad this morning just before the mods removed it in this forum. The person posting the ad goes by the name of KnifeEdge. KnifeEdge's real name is Dominic, and to be fair, he was very straight up and honest.
It's his brother you have to worry about. His brother goes by the name of "John"; but according to Dominc, he rarely gives out his real name.
KE listed a set of Comptech header and catback for sale earlier this morning for a VERY good price. In hindsight, the price was so good, I should've suspected something. Got the money tonight and completed the transaction; as I picked it up and drove home, something in the back of my head told me something isn't right about the whole setup. The catback came in 3 pieces.
So I got home, and took a look at the catback exhaust. Sure enough, the flange where it was supposed to meet the B-pipe was cut in half (therefore separating the catback into 2 pieces); you can tell it's been cut because whoever cut it didn't clean out the metal debris, nor deburred the edge of the flange after the cut. I called Dominic immediately to find his whereabouts and demanded my money back. He complied. The poor kid didn't even know he was being suckered by his own brother.
I don't know where they live, but John's contact cell number is ###-###-####; he told me he lives in the Richmond Hill area. John also has a S13, so if any of you guys know of anyone who drives one, do spread the word about this. "John" told me he needed the money from the Comptech sale to pay off the bill on his own exhaust; therefore, I firmly believed that if I had paid John instead of Dominic, there was no way in a month of Sundays would I ever see my money back.

Hey, this is Dominic aka KnifeEdge.
I would just like to clear up a few things.
Firstly that John is not my blood related brother or even step brother. For those who know what a "kai gor" then you would know what I mean. My real brother and John are two completely different people so I just wanted to get that straight, I don't want my screw ups to affect my family.
Secondly, and by no means is this an attack towards the OP but I do not feel that we have been represented accurately in this incident. I will explain the details later tonight when I upload photos of the exhaust and header in our possession. I had an earlier post which I deleted at the request of John because we did not have all the details yet and we were still trying to figure out everything.

I've been doing alot of searching around on the internet. While it is true that on the comptech site it states that the catback system consists of two peices I have found numerous instances of 3 piece catback systems from comptech for the 00-03 (AP1) S2000s.
here is one of these examples from a past Ebay option (the pictures no longer work but you can see from from the seller repuation that it's obviously not a scam)

I deleted an earlier post because it contained alot of errors. There are comptech exhausts which use both three bolt and four bolt mountings for the B pipe and muffler sections (i erroneously stated that all comptech exhausts were 3 bolt and came to the conclusion that ours is a preproduction model). On the comptech site it only has information regarding the three bolt models. Perhaps there was a design change somewhere down the line but I cannot be 100% sure of that.

I have brought the exhaust to a garage and had two different mechanics take a look at the part. They both agreed that with the proper gasket it can be mounted and function without further modification. They are trying to source a gasket for the exhaust now.

" I bought my exhaust directly from Comptech about a year ago. With S/H and tax, it came to $1300. No hidden costs or surprises other than it arrived in a HUGE box. Back then the kit was a two-piece design which they've since changed to a three-piece system to make it easier to ship.
Fit and finish were perfect and the installation wasn't bad with the help of a friend. I'd imagine that the three-piece design would be easier to install. The stock exhaust is difficult to remove because it's a single piece and weighs a ton."

I realize this situation does not put me in the best light.
I'm trying to resolve the situation the best I can and not to tarnish my reputation.
I would like to thank everyone for being so understanding in the matter, I know that if I was in the same situation I would probably not be able to hold my composure so well.
I am going to upload the photos of the exhaust I took today, the close up shots are not the best in the world since I have a shaky hand and the auto focus didnt work as well as I had hoped.
