i was reading the lancer evo thread in car talk forum. the MSRP in US is $28987 which is around $43480 CDN. i was at my local mitsubishi dealer few days ago, they told me they are bring in the evo 8 next next summer. and price will be around $32k-37k CDN, do you belive it?

pretty cheap.....i can trade in my 01 without adding more money if they are here now...arrrrg....but the interior looks...lets just say simple.

I thought they were not coming to Canada due to the inability to incorporate proper bumpers because of the FMIC?

i duno about that, but the mitshi dealer told they will import evo to canada. Same as the STi, i was being told by the subaru dealer during this summer, STi will be here 2 yrs later.

i just got back from my 2nd trip to tokyo this past year and tried my friend's evo vii ...man, what a blast! I'm definitely down for one if it comes to canada!

yes, they are monsters~ there are so many evo & skyline in HK, but the problem is... traffic jam everywhere, kind of sux driving manual transmission in HK.

Rumor is that we will not get the EVO8 because the bumpers don't meet the 5mph test. We will have to wait for the EVO9. Whether this is true or not, I don't know.

i think that might be true!
cuz the dealer told me that they will be importing the next next summer (2 yrs later).

Sounds about right. The EVO9 will probably come out 18 months after the EVO8. At that point, the GTR will be out too . . .

AWD, 280hp (japan version), 4 doors, kind of like WRX, but much better looking.
