false labour
just got back into office after spending 4 days in hospital.
wife started having contractions sat. night. along with some bleeding.
she's 2 cm dilated but no contractions since sunday - baby and mom are both fine.
doctor sent us home and told us to wait it out - wife's done at work - told to take bedrest here on in.
doctor said that most women can walk around for a few weeks being 2 cm dilated - 4 cm is the threshold - no turning back at that point - you will have a baby.
i'm bagged...talk to you guys soon.

I am in a similar boat in that my wife is due in about a week and a half. Thank goodness that there has been no false alarms yet. I feel for you. Best of luck on the imminent arrival of your new bundle of joy.

thanks everyone - it's been quite unnerving.
my poor wife is just a wreck - she's gone through so much to get us to this point.
i'm just trying to keep her calm and rational.
the problem with her staying at home is that her mind ends up wandering and thinking bad thoughts - she has too much time on her hands and thinks evil thoughts.
thanks again - we're hanging in (barely)....
btw, doctor speculated (ultrasound COULD NOT confirm) that there was a marginal abruption of the placenta that led to the bleeding - if it's a really tiny abruption/detachment, it's impossible to see on an ultrasound - hence the speculation.
regards.
