when they ask if youve had any tickets or violations...ya its only 3 years. accidents may be longer. I went to one of those Kiosks in Fairview Mall and printed my driving abstract so I knew everything within the last 3 years. Not bad, cost me 13 bucks. Oh by the way jasonoff, that johnson.com or whatever will not consider me becuase I'm not 25. I'm guessing they recently changed their rules and only take new accounts if the driver is 25 and over. Thanks anyways

Unfortunately as the older S's get cheaper, the younger "more irresponsible" demographic is buying this car and it affects the rates accordingly. As well, insurance is a big scam too, let's not kid ourselves. Are these quotes for the whole year or just 6-9months?

quick_lude that's true, but it's not like there are THAT many S's around, it's not like a civic .

There's only like 5 in Ottawa, must be 5 civics on every corner.

FWIW I pay $130 a month for both my S and my Impreza full coverage.

That can also work against you though too.. as far as I know, insurance companies base a lot of the rates on past collision, ticket and claim data, so if there are only 300 S's in Toronto and half of them are now owned by younger drives who based on statistics are more prone to accidents/speeding/claims then the rates would rise accordingly.
Heaven forbid my insurance company gave me a rate based on my age, 16 yrs of driving experience, 2 advanced driving schools, no accidents of my fault EVER and two speeding tickets in those 16 years.. Nope, we all have to get pooled with the rest of the S owners and pay accordingly..

I got into 2 accidents in two years and now Allstate has cancelled my collision coverage on my insurance! Before the accidents I never had a claim.

I'm with The Personal which is a broker that uses Waterloo Insurance. I'm in Ottawa though, from what I hear it's MUCH more expensive in Toronto.

quick_lude, I could be wrong but I don't think they go by the number of cars around, they go by the total # of claims so even if all 300 S's got into accidents, they wouldn't be nearly as high a claim rate as a civic that probably has 300 a day HAHA

I'm not dilusional though I suspect my rate will climb eventually, they go up every year even though I've never had an accident or ticket. Yeah that makes sense!
