Total plug and play - no splicing - plugs into your OBDII port.
Can monitor up to 4 simultanious figures including-
-intake temp
-water temp
-battery voltage
-engine speed
-vehicle speed
What do you guys think? Albert? can you get a price on these?
PS: where is the port on our cars?

Hehe, this is being discussed here along with other options:

I'd like to hear about a Canadian price, too.
The OBD II port is located under the passenger dash on earlier models and under the driver's dash in the later models.

Sure you could. But it's never that easy and is always limiting. The money you "save" is spent dicking around with getting a working setup. The hard part is making the cable and mounting the computer. Then you're shaking you're thousand dollar laptop waiting for the hard drive to crash it's heads over every bump in the road.
Depending on what you want in a datalogger, virtual guages or OBDII code reader there are a bunch of cool gadgets. The Apexi looks like a cool virtual guage tool that has some of the guages that should be in sports car like voltage, actual water temp. Too bad there isn't a stock sensor for oil temp or a oil pressure readout.
Here are some other similar cool gadgets. I even remember reading about fuel map reflasher that runs off a Nintendo Gameboy for the display and interface. Perfect FnF accessory!
Car Chip. Sorta like a black box OBDII recorder.

PDA Dyno. OBDII code reader, virtual guages, non-accelerometer based performance calculator on a PDA.

Gtech Performance Meter. Probably the best known and user friendly accelerometer based performance meter.

G2X Datalogger. GPS based datalogging for the track. Has an real time lap/sector time display. I want to eventually get this when I get a real job.
