Default Honda MTF

I have been hearing that our Canadian Honda MTF is the same as the US one pictured below.

Can anyone confirm this? They have different part numbers which could just be a US/Canada thing or maybe we did not get the updated fluid?

Thanks for any help.

The current Honda MTF2 you buy from your dealer in Canada in black bottles is the exact same fluid as the grey bottles in the US. If yours says advanced protection (something along those lines) in yellow lettering on the front of the black bottle you have the right fluid. AFAIK, the part numbers are the same. The only way it wouldn't be is if your dealer is carrying very old stock. The stuff I've been buying from my dealer is the same fluid as the US fluid - Honda MTF Type 2. There shouldn't be any Type1 fluid left in the pipeline unless some dealers are holding very old stock. If you want me to check the part number I've got some bottles in my garage, let me know.

Starchland brought the yellow lettering on the black bottle information to my attention when I inquired about it, gotta give him credit for that one

Thanks for the info. If you could get the part number that would be cool. My local dealer is an old one, plus I just want to know what it is for future reference.

The US part number for the silver bottles is: 08798-9031
