honda, hear me out....
why would i pay you $41K for your car, when i can get a brand new 2004 with hardtop for $52K???
you're dreaming if you think an S2000 should only depreciate by $4K per year.....hell, ferrari's depreciate more than that.

(sorry, i just saw your profile and realize you sound like you have one to sell, not wanting to buy one). -- it all depends how desparate you wanna get rid of.
a better test would be to go and offer to trade-in / sell your car to a dealer and see what they offer... use that price and add $5k to $6k on top of that and that's probably what they will end up posting as their sticker price. (give or take dealer has $1k to negotiate w/ the new buyer and $3k in profits per used car).
the best route is to find a friend of a friend to the Nth degree that don't know squat about cars and has deep pockets that wanna buy their spoiled little brat a car for their 16th, 18th, whatever birthday ... they'll definitely give u the top dollar... highly improbable, but not impossible.

cars will depreciate (albeit, Honda depreciates the least compare to the other manufacturers) but prices do drop and drops the most from the first 4 years. so by the end of that the value should be about 50% to 60% to the original MSRP.
like i said, if you have the time hold out for that top dollar, but don't expect tons of calls any time soon.
good luck!
