Converting it to stick wouldn't be too much fun, not prohibitive, but since you're gonna pay out of pocket for it I'd say just wait and find the car that you like best.

I have a lot of hits on kijiji and craigslist for civics from 400-800
but I don't really care about the engine, I just want a solid body with minimal body work
