The Jenson Button Move To Williams
some emails were sent to me from across the pond..
Some interesting news on the Jenson Button front..
It was all over money..
Jenson had got fed up with BAR not paying him his bonus money, which he
thought he'd get when he signed for BAR in July 2002.
Jenson repeatedly asked David Richards, as he has scored so many points this year.
It was for about $50,000 USD a point was in his BAR contract. That being the case I'd say
about $3million USD was owed to him. Which is probably more than Jenson was being paid in salary.
So the chance to sign with Frank for $5m and kick DR in the teeth was really the motivation.
Because we all know that BAR is the coming team at the moment with JB being the undisputed no. 1 on the team..

I'm a little surprised Doug hasn't used this information to yet again bash DR!!
Simon, thanks. I have read a few things but your summery is exactly what I was sort of piecing together. It looks like Richards has now found himself in quite the pickle. He has to come up with a great driver, or in reality an extraordinary driver to replace the skill sets of Jensen. As Richards is just an employee, I believe his but is on the line because BAR/BAT/Honda/Sponsors were counting on a great '05 season and now the only known commodity they have is the still unpredictable Sato. I'm afraid Richards really fell asleep at the wheel. Although I'm not a BAR fan, I have to admit, I do like Jensen, I always have.

All you JV fans out there.. JV back at BAR for 2005 appears going forward according to some F1 snoops across the pond
JV met with DR a 2nd time without Craig Pollock..
Both JV and DR came out cofident that a deal will be worked out ..
His past engineer Jock Clear is pushing the issue hard to get JV back into a BAR outfit, as one can imagine..
like i said, the only one to screw it up will be Pollock
sorry DawG that you didn't get the drive..
