As title suggests, anybody know of a locksmith or garage that can at least program a new blank key, in Mississauga, and not a dealership? Cutting would also be a bonus, but I'm sure I can find plenty of locksmiths locally that can cut.

I found a place out by keele and Lawrence who will cut and program for $45. I don't mind paying a bit more if I can find someone in Mississauga.

If I remember right, the dealer was pretty cheap. They cut my key for next to nothing too

oh, hmmm ok I'll call a few Honda dealers! With my Nissan, dealer wanted 1.5hrs labour charge, for 10-15min of work (my guess).

Damn. I think it was a half hour at the honda dealer.

If not, I know there's a guy in Oakville that does it. I'll have to look up his information

Honda dealer did mine while I waited two years ago. Don't think it took more than a cup of coffee. I'd purchased the (used) car from him two weeks earlier but it only came with one set of keys. He ordered and programmed the fancy, vanity (not valet) key. Which I don't use of course as it's too pretty to go in my pocket with loose change.

With all of the recent stolen cars, wouldn't it be safer to get the key cut at the dealer?

I was told that Ideal Honda might be about half an hour labour, but I wasn't able to get anyone on the phone today.

I'd love it if you found the contact in Oakville.

Mind you I don't live in the GTA but I had a dealer cut a doublesided key(Black OEM key) for MY06 for free and was quoted $30 for programming, just haven't had time to get it programmed yet.

I got one of those aftermarket flip keys for free and am looking into that now. With regards to getting a chip, I'm planning to cut the chip out of my blank key and use that in the flip key.
