lol I've done parking lot drifts and shit before, what gear head hasn't? I think everyone should at some point to learn a little bit about their car... except I did it really late in a really large and empty parking lot of course.

I don't know how lucky he is, after all he did get caught. I don't think you can get charged under the "highway traffic act" in a private parking lot, seems like scare tactics on the cops part to me. Judging by the post it seemed like it worked too.

To the OP: Do you know there is a massive skid pad a Mosport open for your amusement pretty much all the time ?
yeah but if the cop wanted to be an asshole ... he could have informed the owner of the property that there was dmg done to the asphalt. If the owner of the property was an asshole as well, he could have got it professionally cleaned on the OP'S expense. I have seen this happen before.

that is one huge rabbit's foot, 4 leaf clover, <insert lucky charm>, stuck up your ass that night.

woodbine + 16th is a huge cop magnet because lots of groups gather there and it's open (and of course there's a doughnut shop there ) --

lesson learned, take it to the track - move on.

drive safe! and good luck in the future.

We all do dumb shit at some point in our lives. Don't listen to some of these guys

your manhood is sharing your story with others which is positive and insightful.

I haven't.

I've owned more cars than fingers, and almost all my toes
Swapped engines, trannies, etc...

I am, indeed, a gearhead.

I have never. Ever. Left patches in a parking lot.

Want to know the place to learn car control? HPDE, Driving Schools, and other Amateur Motorsport events. They're plentiful, inexpensive and filled with a lot of people that can teach you more about your car and driving than doing donuts or show&shine meets in a parking lot can.

If you're too scared to do one of those, you DEFINATELY should not be horsing around on the streets because a scared driver is a dangerous driver, especially at the limit.

While I'm glad the cop was able the scare the shit out of the OP and probably help prevent him from further hoonage perhaps leading to injury of flesh or car, I believe, in all honesty, there was little the cop could really do. The worst I believe is the property owner could press charges for damage but I don't see anyone wasting their time over some skid marks.

Good on the OP to recognize his mistake.. just a shame the thought process hadn't occured PRIOR to acting like an idiot.

I'm going to tell you something about girls and cars.

Most of them don't care.

Some may be interested in the color or comfort of the interior and maybe how expensive it is (though at 20, most will figure it's Daddy's money anyhow (whether it is or isn't)). But not whether you can do donuts or burnouts... it's childish, and most women, even young ones just see you acting like a child, playing with his toys. Want to impress them? Try NOT acting like a tool. There's more than enough idiot 20-somethings around that you stand out being mature rather than "fitting in".

S#!t, I can (and do) win events and it hasn't done anything for my sex life.

On the bright side, at least you learned early and not too late.

Racing and drifting on the track is more fun anyways. =)
