OK, I've just gotten home from my GROOLING 
night shift and am currently looking in my Helm manual.
"DTC P1457" is "Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Control System - Leakage (EVAP Canister System)".
So, I can more safely say at this time, that your tech was full of DOODOO. It has nothing to do with exhaust. It has to do with "evaporative (thus the word: EVAP) fuel recovery system". ie. that cannister with the sensor in it that I mentioned. Therefore, the most likely (but not the only) thing is the GAS CAP.
I'd hate to think that they gooned ya for their fix when they could have just put on a 15 buck gas cap.

Okay... my fingers are crossed that the gas cap is the answer. (although it did pass the emission pressure test)
Now, gotta clarify from now on that "Gas Cap" problem, can also mean the actually gas cap is messed up as opposed to just not connected right.

Dude, get your dough back. XViper has all the ammo you need.
But Im with James on this. I drive an S because I dont need to think about this crap. The second I have hassels will be my last second in the car.
If my CEL comes on, Im going to CEL my car.
