New buyer help required in Ontario
I’ve been looking at purchasing a 2002 S2000 that is in great shape and has 110000km on it. Car was originally from British Columbia and has been in Ontario since 2011. The car is all original and looks almost new. Owner is asking $22,000.00 CAN. I just found out through Carfax that the car had a front end repair in 2006 for $8300.00 through the insurance and states front end collision. Nothing else. Current owner says he was unaware of the previous repair. He purchased the car in 2007. The car drives great and there are no obvious signs of any repair. Honestly not sure what to do. Is $8300.00 worth of damage a concern? How does it affect the value for the car now knowing it had a costly repair at $8300.00?
Any thoughts, advice would be very much appreciated.

I would probably keep looking. If you were able to know more about the extent of the accident and the repairs carried out, you could make a better decision on buying it. Not particularly low km either.

If the frame was moved at all I'd stay away from it, though you will never really know if the current owner has nothing to say about it. That is not a bargain price so I would stay away from it unless you can get a really good deal. When you go to sell it later down the road you will take a hit unless you get it for a better price now. I doubt the current owner didn't know about it, but know one really knows I guess.

I wouldn't ever buy an accident s2000, unless it was going to be strictly for track use. The car above is likely worth $14 to me. Get the VIN and do a web search- you may be able to find photos of the original accident.
good luck, but really, keep looking. be patient.
