I need to get one done by this November, does that mean I can skip it as I won't need it by the time I put the car back on the road next year?

Thanks
Jim

My plate stickers are due in November for the S2k and my daily. $480 for two years.

For some reason the S2k doesn't need a test but my daily does. They are 2005 and 2003. My daily needs over $1,000 in emissions repairs (evaporation canister or ECU or filler neck, exhaust manifold corrosion). I imagine I'm going to have to fork out the $400 for an attempt to repair and get a conditional. Stupid laws.

But going forward, Doug Ford is my hero, my daily can last longer now!

shying away from politics , but dumping the retarded carbon tax and emmissions testing are two huge moves for Doug Ford which make me very happy. Ford says he will move to chase the big tailpipe polluters which sounds good to me too, but I'm not sure what that means. Driving I often see cars and trucks spewing huge tailpipe emmissions yet I've always had to worry about my modern well maintained vehicles while the polluters get off the hook , the system just did not work right so hopefully Ford gets it right.

Buck a beer seems to be a flop lol, though I could never see myself drinking any beer that costs $1 lol

They are both odd years. I just remembered that I got the S2k tested when I bought it last year, so that must be it.

Anyone have any experience with the Civic SIR/ EP3?

Im considering getting one with 200k km as a winter car, wondering how reliable they are.

I had one of each SiRs, the original coupe and the hatchback (EP3) I really liked both. The SiR coupe is reliable when treated right, you just might not know how it was treated in the past and that could be an issue with the 8k rpm redline if abused. Mine was great and I know Darcy has one that is bulletproof. The b16a was the most torqueless Honda motor I've owned, I wished that it had more torque.

I loved my EP3 hatch, I would lean towards that as a daily driver, less likely to have been abused with it's lower redline and being a more pedestrian engine. With the lower redline it may not be as exciting as the coupe version. The hatchback was very handy, the seats were amazing, if you can find one with good condition seats I would jump at it in a minute. I liked the shifter on the EP3, and the engine was more torquey compared to the Civic Coupe SiR. It handled well and I had it burning up the track at Gingerman Raceway with just a rear sway bar upgrade. .
