Sorry to hear about the engine popping, it happens though. Nothing to cry about!
Find a new one and toss it in. Get that car back on the road!
Wasn't your car stupid low kms?
In for story on how and why it happened.
Like my valve, curious to know what fails in the engine...

The question is... Did you get the flashpro tuned? Your car ran great before so I can't see it being the motors fault. They can handle quite a bit of abuse.

If your looking for a short block, I have one. It's in great shape. It's AP1 but if your planning to build then it's not an issue. we can work out a good deal if interested.

sorry to hear mike. I wouldn't build the engine - it's not going to be worth the expense when you can get an ap2 block for around 2500. Just get one of those and throw it back in. Just my .02

Gonna be spending too much for too little, just throw in an ap2 block and then boost!

If I go to any meets and ridin alone, your more then welcome to join. Sorry to hear about that mikey.

It has absolutely nothing to do with that!

+1...

Mike's car was tuned by Brian at APH, a day after they did mine. I did extensive data logs with my car, and everything looked great. 0 knock count, very conservative/safe AFR's, progressively richer AFR in the upper RPM range, the engine is not pulling any ignition timing, etc. From what I know, Mike's mapping was very similar to mine, as it should have been, given we had pretty similar mods at the time of tune. The only differences were he had a lower vtec engagement, probably due to him having an AEM CAI vs. my FIPK, and straight-through 70mm test pipe vs. my resonated 63mm. The basemap from Hondata, which he used prior to the tune, was even more conservative. Sorry for speaking on behalf of Mike, but I had to jump in on this one to quash any doubts about the Hondata Flashpro and/or tune done by APH. It would not be fair to either company to make assumptions and jump to conclusions that they were to blame for this mishap (especially Brian @ APH).

So what caused the blow then?

it's very rare for a F22C to go kaboom. I would love to see and hear about a teardown of the engine. There must be a reason, and hopefully the rest of us can learn from it.

Low oil? There is only a handful of lapping days on his car and no over-revs.... right mike? It's just odd that there was no blowing of engine before the flashpro..... curious to hear more though

Keep us posted, and hang in there buddy

Obviously you know more than we do about what happened. I was just speculating since no info was given.
