marco and ron did a great job, especially considering they were up against some pretty tough opponents

you guys should've seen the fight for first (although there wasn't much of a fight) in the C class, 146hp modified civic dx hatchback vs a modified ~500hp Z06. goes to show how far driving skill can take ya..

left it in neutral.....

It was tricky staging on the downhill though. I was trying to heel/toe to keep the revs up but I heard some other guys were holding the parking brake. Any idea what the best method is?

My wife and I were there as spectators. Eleven years ago I was heavy into solo II regionals and club competition. Later I turned to solo I. After all those years there was Tony M. and Daryll D. still competing. We watched the first two qualifying runs of the S2K drivers and then had to leave. We thought the left course was a little unfair do to its elevation change but I guess it all evens out in the end. Sorry to hear you guys were out of it in the first round.

The left course was actually quicker when we designed it (or rather it was being driven quicker) though the "pros" seemed to favor the right course after time. Personally with my car and the rough patches on the right one, I did far better on the left.

Course with the rain that started half way through my qualifying runs and my bald tires (down to the cords at the end of the day) I didn't even qualify in my class (that's a first). Instead I got moved to D Class (as we always do with people who don't qualify) where I finished 4th. I don't think I'd have done that well had I stayed in C, the car just needs too much prep. MR2's are nice for a street car, but the 91's are really ASS for motorsport, no LSD, no power steering, and small front brakes.

That white C-Class Civic was a VX not a DX and driven by a guy we call 'H-Bomb'. In any other autoX, H-Bomb can come close or even beat Jerry in the Z06 but with the long straight of the prosolo, it's a little more difficult, besides Jerry had a good fix on the launch, something that really helped me in the end.
