Rocker Guard - Thoughts? Tips?
So, winter was not nice to my daily. Rocks beat up the underside of the car almost leading up to the door. It needs to be refinished.
I might take it to a body shop, but then I might do it myself. If I were to tackle it, how is paintable rocker guard used? Do you sand, prime, rock guard and then paint? Or is it sand, rock guard, prime, and paint? Or is it sand, prime, rock guard, prime, and paint? lol.
Thanks for any input!

I also found a cool product that you roll on, so no masking off the whole car, and it comes in over 30 colours. Looks like an easy way to protect your rockers. http://www.monstaliner.com/

I've rolled on the stuff that you buy in spray cans at Crappy tire, can't remember the manufacturer name, but I think it's a Canadian company. I spray a bunch of it onto foil wrap, then I roll it with a foam pad roller (small one), and put it on the parts that I want coated. I use masking tape to keep a straight and clean edge. This is black though, I don't really need it painted ,so it works for me.

i have extensive experience with the rubberized rockergaurd from canadian tire. It is an excellent product, easy to use, messy as hell while its wet, smells and will make you nauseous if you inhale too much of it- so use a breather mask.
but after masking things off and cleaning the surface up you'll be using it on, spray away. it removes easily with paint thinner if you get some on surfaces you didn't intend it to go onto.
I've used it to coat the entire bottom of my GTX, and to recoat the wheel wells of my s2000. I've used it on the back surface and underside of my AP1 oem lip and the lower rocker panels of the same car. i'm going to use it on the rear bumper underside to protect from rocks and road debris.
your mileage may vary, but i give this product a thumbs up. 3M products are excellent but you pay for their immense quality.

Thanks for the info darcyw. The canadian tire one only comes in black right? I think I am going to have a hard time getting my hands on a white one. I'll try to email monstaliner to see if they ship to Canada.
Update: They do. They charge a small fee and they only ship with UPS... I hate UPS...
