Default S2000 Purchasing Methods & Finances

First of all I am new to the board and like this forum so far. I've been recently looking into getting into an S2000. Personally I don't really have too many problems.

Im wondering if you guys can help me with financing questions?

I was told at the dealership in summer 02, havn't been back since (they neglect me when im not with my father, I'm paying for this 100% myself but I still look very young and am not taken seriously)

10K down $515 a month

Any ideas or input as to what they would do for a used 01 or 00 model in the range of $35000 - $40000 sticker price?

Or if I were to throw down an extra 5K to 10K on downpayment (netting 15 - 20K down) what would they than charge me a month considering its financed off their policy and bank.

Any help or if you could share how you purchased your S2000 finance/lease and how much you pay a month with how much down would be excellent.

TIA

Regards

If I were you I'd finance through the bank. Typically better rates. Work out your payments in excel.

im not sure if your intrested in leasng but you can get quite a good deal these days on a brand new 03

with about $5k down, you could be paying about $540 / month, nothing but 1st and gas tax up front. no freight, no pdi, no other bullshit.

If you are looking at a used one, I would consider one from a member who is selling theirs. PM Comets and sman, both are trying to sell.

Not sure how many years you are looking at - but for a new s2k with $10k down you should be able to pick it up with payments like $430/month on a 5-year loan...

I picked mine up with $6k down and a 6-year loan, paying $419/month.

Are the quotes you guys are giving from banks or through a dealership?

My mom actually works for the bank and told me to go through a dealership because it will be cheaper as they are financing many cars daily makign their exclusive rates...

I am actually looking used, but new might be nice aswell, I have replied in their threads before..... Need to actually dump off some stuff before I will have the money to go through with the pruchase. Also I think I was looking for a black one (I have read the flame wars , add me to your hate/love list).

SLAPMYFRO - What would Danny do for 10K down? How about 15K down? I will talk to him eventually but I want a better understanding before I go into the dealership and start somethgin I cannot follow through with if worst case scenario occurs.

jmrobins - 6K down on a brand new car? Is that figure from a bank or the dealer?

Thanks for the replies. Keep them coming. Not sure how long i should take for the payments. I was thinking a large sum down 10 - 15K and than do it away with in 3-4 yrs.

for another 5 k down (making 10 in total) he would probably knock off 130 / month so your payment would be around $410 give or take a little

best thing to do would be to talk to him

Thanks guys. Please keep replying what you are paying now, and through who......

$410 a month on 10K down on an 03 is awesome.... I wouldn't mind that in the slightest......
