You probably either have or had an after market alarm system. Is it possible the previous owner may have removed it and just left the LED there? Your factory alarm will still work with an after market alarm installed

To get the LED console light you need to purchase the optional Honda security system, it does not come with the immobilizer security feature which is standard equipment.

Would that be a dealer installed option then? The OP's LED looks awfully similar to the LED in my car. Is it possible a dealer decided to install it in a different location for simplicity?

Was always under the impression that factory alarm LED flashed in the cluster. The picture does not look like an oem LED.

The black box for the optional security system mounts to the driver side seat pan, take a peak under the driver seat and see if you have the control box for the alarm system, you should also have the valet button installed somewhere around the lower dash if you have the optional security system. You get the LED with that system only, if you don't have the Honda security system then any LED would be an aftermarket add-on. They sell aftermarket dummy lights to give the look of a factory security system.

I will look into this! Thanks.

So the "panic/rape whistle" isn't part of the security system rather a security feature-ish?

Its just that a panic/rape whistle. However, it would have been nice and easily implemented if Honda added the feature where if a locked door is unlocked and opened from the inside (ie topdown/window down) the horn is triggered which is standard equipment on the accord, etc.
