Default Security systems

What do you believe to be best security system for your S2k and why?

Clifford IntelliGuard 770 would be my pick.
It has all the same features as a standard security system and the added:
  • BlackJax 5 anti-carjacking system
  • ACG-2 Defeats remote "cloning" devices used by thieves
  • Fact-2 (False Alarm Control and Test) prevents repetitive trigger sequences due to a faulty sensor or environmental conditions
  • Programmable ultra-secure starter immobilization
  • Omni-sensor, glass break sensor, digital tilt motion sensor
  • G5 Glass break sensor

or you can always have the flame thrower coming from the sides of the car

This is a great question, I know nothing about alarms and I'd like to know what works well. On the Clifford didn't Hotknives have a Clifford alarm on his car that was just stolen ?, not sure if it is the same model of alarm but he did list it as being a Clifford.

I would also think something with a pager capability would be a worthwhile feature, maybe GPS too ?

Keep the replies coming there must be some security experts on this forum ?

I would skip all of those security systems, and just install a GPS hidden in my car, that is just my thoughts. I just am not sure which GPS system is good.

maybe you can you stick an iphone in the tools tray when you are away from the vehicle, but then you can't use it to call the cops, lol,

My friend has a great GPS system hooked up to all of his work trucks, but he has to pay a monthly fee. No theft attempts yet, but he has found his workers at strip clubs during the workday when they told him they were at a jobsite. He went to the strip club and took the vehicle away, when the workers came out they called him to say that their truck was stolen and he fired them on the spot. lol.

The Clifford IntelliGuard 770 is from 2007/2008 I thought?
Not sure if the technology is the same as new(er)? models or not.
I have always heard good things about the Viper 5701... and it can be had and installed for about $400 from audio heaven.
If you also put in the escort entourage GPS tracker I think you're good to go. The entourage GPS does have a monthly fee but thats the price we pay to keep the car (fairly) safe if it's out of your sight. Entourage is around $200-$250 but monthly fee is $15 or so. I really don't remember.

It's really sad what the world is coming to.
I was driving the hypeR through brampton/vaughan yesterday and felt like a stripper being stared at by a bunch of dude who have never seen boobs before. Thank god I never need to park anywhere near there ever.

My last security system was installed and setup by the guys at Level12 [http://www.level12sound.com], I'll probably go to them again this year for my S2000; CompuSTAR + Drone Mobile.

#1 way to keep your car safe (relatively):

Don't tell everyone in a public forum what sort of security your has or has not.

If a car has GPS tracking, They should also have a sticker that says: "If you take this car, I will find you. GPS tracking installed." They wont know where it is installed so They might just skip the trouble. =P

Buy a large hungry dog and stick it on the passenger seat.

Another great way to protect your car is to install a fuel pump bypass "on off" switch. Cutting power to the fuel pump will make it impossible to start the car. So if you park your car in the hood, flip the well hidden switch that cuts the pump off and no matter how hard they try they will never start her up.
